Bdad has called the county office wanting a visit. He didn't leave a number to be called back but I'm sure he'll call again. We have a new permanency worker who said she'll just have them do a group visit. This means 1 supervisor in a room with several kids visiting parents. So in other words, it wouldn't be very supervised. My social worker asked her to read the file, consider how long he's been out of the picture at this point and how young the kids are before deciding what kind of visit to do. After starting to read the file the county worker agreed that one on one supervision would be best. Also our CASA worker will go on the visit so the kids will have someone familiar to them there. Thank heavens for her!!
So for now we'll wait to see what happens next. Avery certainly doesn't know him, plus she screams a lot so hopefully she'll scare him off. hahaha And Brock talks so much now! It's hard to know what a child remembers, I wonder if he remembers him. I'm sure he would when he sees him. The last visit they had was late May, almost 6 months ago. That's a long time for children so young and I'm worried what memories could be stirred up for B. But, it's part of the process and we'll just have to go through it.

Goodness Gracious, I thought we were through with BDad! Now, the anxiety starts all over again for you all! Dig Deep, pray hard!
ReplyDeleteWell the difference this time is, it's just visits. Our social worker is coming next month to meet with Matt & I to start the adoption process. They are still planning on terminating his rights. However it was in the court order that if he wants visits, he can have visits once a month until Dec 12th. They will only be for 1 hr and just found out they will be one on one supervised with the case aid that used to take them and with the CASA worker. So it sounds like we don't have anything to worry about, although I'm still holding my breath a little. But it's common for visits to continue until rights are terminated. It's just usually more common in older children. In this case it'll probably stir up emotions with Brock at least and be uncomfortable for Avery. It'll give bdad a chance to say his goodbye's I guess.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness - my heart skipped when I read this. You sound pretty calm about it though so I'm going to follow your lead. ;) Will keep praying for you guys! (although it would be nice if you didn't have to deal with this)
